OVERVIEW OF IEC’S ACTIVITIES AND IMPLEMENTATION FOCUS
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) is positioned as the driving force behind the innovation ecosystem within the Institute, playing a connecting role between training, research, technology, businesses, and the market, contributing to bringing knowledge and technology into practice in the context of digital transformation and the development of a knowledge-based economy.
With a closely linking orientation between academia and application, IEC concentrates on implementing the following key activities:
1. Counseling and implementing innovation
• Counsel on building innovation model, strategy, route for businesses, research group and units within the Institute.
• Support the implementation of technological solutions and promoting the commercialization of research results.
2. Incubation for startup
• Organize startup incubation and acceleration programs in focal fields (AI, ICT, digital data, etc.).
• Support in refining products and business models, and connecting with investors.
• Develop innovative space (innovation lab, co-working space).
3. Training and developing capacity of innovation
• Training program includes:
o Digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and data.
o Entrepreneurship and innovation management.
o Intellectual property and technology commercialization.
• Enhance capacity of students, profressors and startup community.
4. Connecting ecosystem and partnership
• Organize innovation events (Techfest, hackathon, technology forums, etc.).
• Connect businesses – research institutions – experts – investors.
• Develop a network of mentors and partners domestically and internationally.
5. Investment Promotion and Technology Transfer
• Support investment connections for startups and technology projects.
• Promote technology transfer and intellectual property utilization.
• Seek opportunities for cooperation in applying technology to production and business.
6. Development of Innovation Platforms and Data
• Build a data system on startups, technologies, and experts.
• Implement a sandbox model for testing new products and solutions.
• Apply digital platforms in management and ecosystem connectivity.
7. Ecosystem Integration and Expansion
• Strengthen international cooperation in training, research, and entrepreneurship.
• Connect the domestic and regional innovation ecosystems.
• Support startups in accessing global markets and business models.
8. Media and Dissemination of Innovation
• Communicate innovative models and best practices.
• Provide information on technology and startup trends.
• Contribute to building a culture Innovation in the Academy.
